Das Masterstudium Informatik an der Universität Innsbruck bietet eine vielseitige vertiefende Wissenschaftliche Ausbildung und Vertiefung in verschiedenen Bereichen der Informatik. Im 2. Semester kann man sich für eine Vertiefung in Logic and Learning, Perception, Interaction and Robotics oder Secure and Distributed Computing entscheiden. Wenn ein breiteres Interesse zwischen den Vertiefungsmöglichkeiten besteht muss keine Vertiefung gewählt werden und es können die einzelnen Module vermischt besucht werden.
Curriculumswechsel
Für den Wechsel vom alten Master Informatik Curriculum w2007 zum neuen Master Informatik Curriculum w2021 wurde eine Äquivalenzliste erstellt, die festlegt, wie die einzelnen Lehrveranstaltungen und Module übertragen werden. Lehrveranstaltungen des alten Masters werden noch 6 Semester angeboten.
Der Wechsel in das neue Masterstudium kann
- persönlich in der Studienabteilung unter Vorlage des Studentenausweises erfolgen. Eine Terminbuchung über lfu:online ist notwendig, oder
- schriftlich per E-Mail über den Studierendenaccount an die E-Mail Adresse studienabteilung@uibk.ac.at

From the elective modules three modules of elective modules 1 to 6 need to be completed.
Specialisation
A specialisation can be chosen, but do not have to.
If a specialisation is chosen, the supplement „specialisation in …“ is added to the degree certificate. In order to receive the supplement, the corresponding elective modules amounting to 30 ECTS credits must be selected and the Master’s thesis must be written in the specialisation. In addition, 3 further elective modules amounting to 30 ECTS credits must be chosen.
If no specialisation is chosen, any elective modules 7 – 19 amounting to 60 ECTS credits can be chosen.
Available Specialisations:
- Logic and Learning (Elective module 7 – 9)
- Perception, Interaction and Robotics (Elective module 10 – 12)
- Secure and Distributed Computing (Wahlmodule 13 – 15)
If a specialisation is chosen, the modules should be attended according to the recommended course of study (1. basic module of the specialisation, 2. selected chapters, 3. advanced topics), as the modules build on each other.
Window of opportunity
Instead of the elective modules Interdisciplinary Skills and Individual Choice of Specialisation (=30 ECTS), a supplement for Master’s studies (30 ECTSAP) can be completed according to available places. Supplements are fixed modules amounting to 30 ECTS-AP; they are announced in the University of Innsbruck bulletin.
